sort of. I haven't tried again, but I couldn't get it to work and realized my On/Off was in the off position. I "was" watching a video on a 2014+. I was thinking you meant the main ignition switch. gonna try again, but after watching this video, and looking at my bike, I'm leaning towards the roll-off. Mine is almost smashed between my tank mount. I put in braided lines when I customized the bike a couple years back.
I'm also a little slow when it comes to electrical and reading meters. Although I do have meters for when others come to work on my stuff, lol!
I think I will do this as well if the diagnostic video works for me and it points to the roll-off.
Here is that video:
I followed the video of the guys with the 2014+ bike, and I cant get it to turn green. Which leads me to believe that it may be a set/resume switch problem on the handlebar. UNLESS, this won't work on my 2007. I was going to have my buddy bring his 2008 module over, but when he took off his side cover, he didn't have the same cruise module as I do. Maybe there is a change in the cruise diagnostic steps after 2007?
If it is a switch problem, THAT SUCKS! I put on 12" Yaffe bars, and it was a PITA! Hopefully the wiring is not shorting in the bars. It makes a straight 90 degree turn instead of the normal curve. Either there or maybe the switch itself?
But let me know if a 2007 will do the same diagnostic as the one in the above video with the 2 guys with the 2014+ bike.
wouldn't trust the method on the 2014 bike as you cant check the clutch lever on a 2007, it looks for over revs in that condition on a 07, NOT clutch lever movement.
Do this........... 1. Hold cruise switch in the "set" position. 2. Turn the cruise "on" on the dash switch. 3. Turn the main power switch on, the cruise light should initially come on Amber then turn green, release the cruise switch the light will turn amber. 4. Push the cruise switch to "resume" the light should turn green, release the switch, the light should turn amber. 5. Roll the throttle "off", make sure you roll it off to activate the cutoff switch for the cruise, the light should turn green, release the throttle the light should turn amber. 6. Apply the front brake, the light should turn green, release it, the light should turn amber. 7. Apply the back brake, the light should turn green, release, the light should turn amber.
The 14 and the 07 are completely different, 14 are CAN-Bus TBW bikes whereas the 07 is not so cruise control diagnostics from the 14 will not relate. Forget the videos and try what MURPHCC1 is saying to do as it is the proper way to diagnose the switches on a 07 model.
I had the same problem with my roll off switch on my 2007 EGC. I unhooked just one wire on the roll off switch by the tank. The cruise control works but the light does not turn green but does show amber.
