iron 883 lost sideplate and fault code question
hey lads hoping someone can help me out.
i bought a almost new iron883 a few yrs back.
2014 model here in ireland .
long story short the rear axle mounted license plate broke off twice .
i hated thw thing anyways so i made a new on with corrugated plastic as the dealer wanted 500 euros for a new one nope on that .
ihave just purchased another rear fender licemse plate holder with small led to light up the plate .
today i ran a diagnostic and it say bcm y.
code b2161.
which is because the old bracket and light are missing from the system my dealer said they would shut it off but obviously didnt .
i am just womdering will i have issues changin to just a plate light instead of plate light and brake light i really dont want another sidemount plate and it has brakelights integrated into rear indicators.
amy info or pointers would be greatly appreciated

The BCM meassures current draw on its circuts, when any of those readings go out of range it can throw a code or for the more advanced system (car) tell you which light is out.
Edit: If you want to change the configuration you may have to experiment around to find what works by using the proper bulbs.
