Default Headlight

So hear goes. I have a 97 dyna wide glide with a 5.75" headlight. I'm trying to change to a led light. The chrome casing has no ring or phillips screws. Just two tiny alan screws on the bottom. How does the light come out to change it. Please help!

Sounds like you have an aftermarket headlamp as the stock has a single screw across the bottom horizontally on the trim ring as a retainer. If you post pics we may be able to get an idea what brand and how to disassemble the headlamp.

I'd like to switch to an LED headlight. My question is what makes a Harley Davidson 5-3/4" Daymaker Projector LED Headlamp worth $409.95?

Yeah, I know that much, You can buy a 5-3/4" LED headlight without the logo from Amazon of Flee Bay for as cheap as $29.99 or from a aftermarket dealer for up to around $300.00. Has anyone had any experience (good or bad) with either a $30 or $300 LED. Should I just settle on something in the middle or bite the bullet and buy a $300.00 LED?

Research reviews on google for the brands you are interested in, learn what all of the different specs mean and then compare them. Make your choice weighing the various pros and cons vs. dollars.

Otherwise, the old adage “You get what you pay for" is usually a good guide.

I am in the same boat, looking to upgrade my headlight to LED. I have a 2013 Dyna Super Glide. I have been searching and have found LED bulb replacements, looking to see if anyone has any feedback on what they are using.

Auxito.com is getting good reviews (top 10 best LED Bulb), these bulbs are fanless, and less material (harness/ballist, resistor) to "stuff" into the headlight housing

I am looking at this one H4 9003 LED Bulb Fanless 9000 Lumens Adjustable Beam 6500K Xenon White High Low Beam HB2 $53.99us includes free shipping (I am up in Canada)

please post any details you have on going LED headlight

Thanks

I wound up replacing the entire headlight assembly with an AMERICAN made 4H plug and play J.W. Speaker 8690 LED. I could not bring myself to using a Chines headlight. I did a side by side direct comparison with a less expensive $40.00 Chines headlight bought on Amazon with a BRAND NAME $200.00 LED headlight I bought from one of the bigger after market motorcycle retail companies. The more expensive Brand Named headlight arrived from the retailer. I opened the package and to my surprise the box inside with the headlight in it was marked made in China. I thought for $200.00 at least the Brand Named light would have been made in the USA. The Chines - Brand Named headlight looks (appears) exactly like the less expensive other no name headlight from Amazon. I am sending the $200.00 headlight back to the retailer I bought it from for a refund.

It is my understand J.W. Speaker is the company making Harley Davidson Daymaker LED headlights. I suspect there is a company in China making LED headlight and there are companies in the US buying them and branding them their own and selling them to the unexpected at a huge profit. Cut out the Chines and the middle man a buy a J.W. Speaker. It is well worth it. Do your own research, your get what you pay for. It is well worth the extra cost to support an honest USA based manufacturing company.

Because they have to pay for the development cost, so cheap Chinese knock offs can steal the technology and undercut prices.

Yeah but what irks (the **** out of) me is the deception when you buy something at a "premium" price thinking you are getting a premium product and it just turns out to be the same Chines inferior, knock offs (JUNK) repackaged at a higher price.
