I have a 2001 Electric Glide w/carb.
I replace the crank sensor about 6 yrs ago, and just recently the speed sensor.
Bike will start and run for awhile, then the speedo goes to 0 and engine light comes on, bike will kill, but restart. Also replace the main circuit breaker.
Not sure if the cam sensor is the problem, any help would be greatly appreciated.
If the Speedo goes to zero and the engine light comes on before the engine dies my bet is on an electrical issue. Check all the main connections for corrosion. I've also read on here the ing switch can have corrosion and burned contacts causing similar issues.
Thats, for the info, I have been checking all connections and have replace the main circuit breaker.
Also I realize that there was no cam sensor on this model. The only item that would kill the engine is the key sw and kill sw.

Started to take off front faring and noticed some cloth falling out of the faring when I was losing the screws, sure enough it was a rat net.
I knew then that there had to be some wiring chewed up.
But to my surprise, all the wiring in the faring was good. I proceed with starting the bike and then turning the handle bar right to left.
The engine light would flicker on the slightest of turn. I removed the clamps holding the main wire harassed, cut open the jacket and started the bike and moved one wire at a time until I found IT
