Default A question for you mechanics?

Does anybody know how to check a cam sensor and crank sensor to see which one is breaking down under heat?

Any help would be awsome...the sensors are like 50 bucks a piece.

Thanks for looking

My bike is a 99 ultra stock motor.
The same one in my sig.

If the cam sensor goes it will default to the crank sensor ( you dont even need the cam sensor) if the crank sensor goes out the bike WILL NOT start. There is no posted ohm spec for the CKP but I have one written down at work from HD. It needs to put out 5 volts a/c.

I have replaced all the relays and breakers.....but something is causingthe bike to shut down when it warms up like 15 min after it starts and the bike will crank but not start....no spark....the only three pieces left are the cam sensor and crank sensor and the carb ICU.........that is why i am asking if anybody knows how to check one to if it is bad before i go buy both sensors....

I had the meter on it while it was running and it was below 5 volts i believe...but after it died it was at 5 volts......but if you can tell me the ohms i will check it tomorrow.....thanks in advance....

I will check the voltage on both again tomorrow.

My only suggestion would be to get the Electrical Diagnostic Manual and follow the diagnostic chart in it.

If you have spark but still wont start I would look at fuel problem possible bad fuel pumpif EFI? If there is no spark its probably the crank sensor.
