I have a 2014 CVO Breakout. I am gone for long periods of time so I keep it on a battery tender. She turns over but it takes a few seconds to get her to fire up. Runs fine once I start it. If I get off of it during a ride for a meal, a beer, a ****, anywhere from a few minutes to an hour or two, she fires right up, faster than when she's fresh off the tender. I had the battery bench tested and it's 100%. I'm trying to get it figured out why she struggles to start without a visit to the shop and before she leaves me stranded. Anyone had similar issues or suggestions? Thanks in advance for anything you can offer on the subject.
After checking all connections.
Note that 4 battery cable ends should be reviewed.
Then review your battery tender.....several brands available and the name tender is sometimes used generically.
Are the lights on tender responding correctly? or do you just plug it in and walk away.
Reason: Perhaps the fuse for tender line is blown.
What type of battery on bike? AGM or lithium.
Reason: Lithium requires a specific type of charger.
Any battery will discharge over time due to a parasitic drain like an alarm light blinking or the addition of a USB charger that is actively draining at all times..
Also look at wall outlet being used for battery tender....it would be sad if outlet is switched and somehow it gets turned OFF or that a GFI trips and unit gets no power.
