I have a 2008 softail custom. Was running yesterday and today it will not crank. Reads EIP on speedo. No blinkers and no power to starter.
Ive tried everything I can find on the internet to clear the code but will not clear. Got a used tssm and it does the same thing. Do you have to have a key fob to make this clear. I’m out of ideals. Any help would be appreciated

Turn ignition to left and use left and right signal light switch to enter code.
EIP can look like TIP if bike has been on its side in a crash. Key off and on resets it however unless major damage has occurred.
A TSSM is far from plug and play. Not sure what will happen with what you did. There designed to be crook proof.. Just may need a dealer now. Take your proof of ownership.
And welcome. Only as a suggestion. Be sure to make your next new post over in the new member welcome area to say hello.

Bike wasn’t tipped over nor laid down. Don’t know what happened. Hopefully I didn’t do more damage than there already was.
I have seen oneTSSM fail on here. If you look at the circuit, it of course is tied into Speedometer and ECM. The final verdict at a Harley Dealer is it was no longer letting the circuit go to ground.
You sure the code you see is what you are saying? That's not in Diagnostic Manual.
Another thread on here on someone trying the only thing now available. I linked it here.
and over there
When installing a new, or in your case used tssm, it's important the module is installed securely, and orientated in the factory position. Even the slightest deviation from factory orientation can cause the bank angle sensor to sense a tip even though the bike hasn't been tipped on it's side.
Like BB says, it's bike specific. There a few models that are oriented 90 degree do to limitations of space. There's a bank angle spect on Harley's. So obviously it more then that.
Just make sure a replacement has same part number. However, until you reset it, nothing new will work.
