Default Brake Lights Always On 2017 Freewheeler Trike

So, I'm getting to know my Freewheeler Trike and today noticed that the brake lights are always on. Following some advice on the forum, I took the hand brake apart and it appears that everything within the device is ok. I looked for the foot brake switch and see that it's pretty difficult to get to, but suspect I need to test the switch. Anyone have any thoughts on the subject? I read on this forum that one member wrote that his did the same thing and burned the tail light plastic piece. Help!

There’s a recall on brake lights staying on.

Bummer...looks like the recall addresses 2019-2022 Trikes. Thanks for the thought and I didn't tell you that my trike is a 2017. Great forum and thoughtful members!
