Default lighting issues

I have a 96 heritage softail classic and i switched to led. worked fine at first, then headlight went out. I thought i had blown something so i park and start to get off and light comes back on when i turn bars all the way to the left. freakiest thing i have ever seen!
Anyone have any suggestions?

Pull the light apart and check your connections.

If the connections AT the light are solid, it’s possible that the poor connection is internal to the light assembly and likely not repairable.

i pulled the light assembly out and moved it around with same result. off untill i turned bars all the way to the left, then it comes on. I tried wiggeling both light and wires around to try to localize issue, nothing.
I am afraid i am gonna have to pull tanks, again, and start looking deeper into harness.

What lights did you change to LED?

Try going back.. Typically when you have an issue like that it's either a poor ground or a broken wire in the harness at the steering neck..

Put the old light back in and see if it still does it.
I had an issue with my H4 plug, 1 of the females is loose in the plug, bike side.

Stating the obvious but if it only happens when you turn the bars is there a cable getting pulled, pushed or squashed?

The FSM will have a list of all the connectors on your bike. If the attached document works you will see HD part numbers and a cross reference.
