Do you have an ol fashion test light, one with an incandescent light bulb in it.
The incandescent bulb puts more load on the circuit while testing.
Helps to insure you have enough current to make things work correctly.

Didn't think about this till this morning.
Measure the resistance on the ground circuit.
Open or high resistance can cause what you describe

Okay my meter does weird things, this is where I’m NOT very knowledgeable. But I took the wiring harness ground out of the equation, made a frame ground hooked up light and still have the same problem. Think I am just going to order the original style and forget this mess…..

On a 2012 you may have Load Equalizers since I think you mentioned had Led to start with when you got it.
Just remembered that this morning to.
Those can create some odd problems also.
There's all kinds of load equalizers
This is only 1 example https://video.search.yahoo.com/yhs/s...177ec00fe5afa3

Good Luck WP

On the bike side:
Black is ground
Blue is running light (dim)
Brown is right turn signal
Purple is left signal

On the LEDs
Black is ground
Blue or yellow is running light
Red or orange is turn signal
