I have a 2019 RG Special (Billiard Blue). Nothing too extravagant it is pretty much stock. Now, I have done some electrical things like wiring speakers and switching out handlebars. These things were done after months of attending Youtube University. Once my bike was paid off, that chick became free game to learn other things. This time I decided to put on a 21" fat tire kit. It required a bolt-in rake. The only thing electrical involved was to unplug battery, disconnect the front fairing, handlebars (14" apes Factory 47), and the ground wire on the old tree. I took pictures and some videos for extra caution.
Problem:
I put everything back together in reverse order. Now the bike won't start. Took it apart again to barebones and reconnected everything...same. I had my battery tested and recharged...same, change the battery in the key fob...same, purchased a new battery...same.
What can possibly be wrong. I see the red security light flashing on the dash, but I get nothing at all. What did I do wrong?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
When you say: Now the bike won't start and I get nothing at all..... what does that mean?
When you turn the ignition on do you get headlight and the gauges cycle ? Anything at all? Can you check for codes? Any message in the odometer display?
When you turn on the ignition switch, nothing at all happens?
What does disconnect the fairing mean?
Disconnecting the fairing front fairing from the harness. The two main plugs. One black and the other white, impossible to mess that up...lol. But, I plugged everything back together to their respected partners and no response.
Re- connecting the battery is it possible that you missed a cable that didn't get put back on the positive side? I've done it myself, went to put the battery back in and it pushed one of the cables down with it and it was fall when I disconnected it so it didn't hit me until I got a no start. Worth looking into and it's free!
