1998 heritage softail classic starting issues
So a few weeks ago I was riding back from the store and my motorcycle stalled out on me and would not crank back up, thankfully I broke down by an auto store and they let me use a battery to jump start it. Got down the road and it died again, got it back up running and was able to get it to the house. I replaced the battery and it cranked up but 15mins down the road it stalled out again and did not want to crank. At that point I assume the stator was bad, so I order a new stator, spark plug and wires(it was tine for new ones). I was able to crank it but while idling the starter wanted to engaged, I turned it off immediately, and ordered a new starter relay, starter switch(which included the on/off button and starter button), I also said **** it and ordered a regulator. Everything was looking great and I felt so proud that it was coming together. While installing the new regulator, the bult attaching to the circuit breaker (located between the oil pan and rear finder) was rusted on and broke, so I replaced it. With everything pretty much new, I figured it would crank right up. But to my surprise it did not. The starter sounds strong and is engaging but the bike just does not want to turn over. I've looked and no wires look pinched or broken. Has any experienced this and if so how did you fix it.
Charge the battery.
Take it to a shop or an auto parts store, and have the battery load tested.
While the battery is out, remove the battery cables and clean both terminals of each cable, and clean the surfaces they connect to.
