Unknown 99 evo Softail that has been worked on and ready to run. It is put together the way it came apart with a few wiring modifications. I have 2 issues and maybe someone can offer me a solution. Led light up horn cover but one wire was always soldered in. The other was left loose so it didnt light up, I grounded and it is always on no matter the ignition position. Minor and I could tape off.
The other issue is the back running lights are always on.
I did a few minor changes from the original wiring going to the exact places as before when I relocated license plate.
Is there a chance the ignition switch is wired wrong. If so which one would let power through all of the time. I looked at the service manual but Im not clear.
tie the horn led to the system lighting and ground the other side, maybe polarity sensitive. running lights are on with ignition off? running light are supposed to be on, hence the word "running".
what switch do you have? off/park/ignition or off/ignition/lights which was the old way but big brother forced the headlight on with key on to help stupid cagers see ya!!
I pulled the dash and found the culprit. Poor solder job for the led lights on the horn and a loose connector to the switch allowed it to touch the power in terminal.
