Canbus question
First, I want to echo the previously posted "don't cut into your harness" advice. Once you cut it, it's cut forever. The only way to fix a cut harness is to replace it.
I found that the Mothership offers a "Connection Kit" for the various models. Find the one that works with your ride.
I've used the HD "kit" to connect both constant 12VDC and Switched 12VDC for accessories. The kit pictures below fits a 2023 RKS. I have installed this kit on all three of my Harleys and never had a problem running any accessories. This included the compact air horns, using a relay to control the power to them.
If you don't already have a connector in the faring, or tucked into the headlight bezel you can use, this is a safe way to get fused 12VDC to your stuff.
