You dont have a throttle by wire, it's a cable on a 07

They go bad. I have 17 threads (Now 18) saved in a folder. Haven't heard they go bad slowly. There no replacement parts except the signal light non security after market replacement unless you can find a used one.

If it dies locked up, it's a big issue. I would not lock it unless I need that security awful bad.

Your FOB is the button one that requires you to set it isn't it? Didn't think you have throttle by electric wire either? Don't you have two wire cables off throttle? One to open and a safety to pull it back even if other was to break.

There post that dealers tell people there bikes are ready for the scrap yard.

PS.. Welcome to the HDFORUM.

Harley says the first TBW was 08. Not 07.
Sure, lets see it.

That means it was BUILT in SEPT 2007, making it MOST LIKELY a 08 model year.

My 07 date code is 06/07, June 2006, doesn't make a 06!!
Depends on what the VIN says it is/
10th digit in the vin is model year on the 2001-2009 year models.
And the VIN does NOT show month of build, that date code is on the sticker on the neck with VIN!
Show the pic of the throttle please as you offered.

OH, and one last thing, you MUST know if its a 07 or 08 Model Year as a LOT of parts are not interchangeable between years, MANY improvement in the 08 model year.
