Forgive my ignorance. I want to switch my current stock lighting( turn signals and rear brake light) to LED's. I've read where to need to put a load module of some sort in line with the wiring harness to make them work properly. Can someone shed more light(no pun intended) on this in detail for me? Thanks
You need to have a load resistor such as a Badland load resistor to give your turn signal flasher enough resistance. What happens is if you install the LEDs without one on your turn signals they will flash 4 or 5 time normally then begin to flash very quickly. Adding a load resistor ( one for the rear turn signals and one for the front if you do both sets) will eliminate the quick flashing.
Thats why the load resistor is needed. You can also add a back-off module to your brake light that will flash several times before going solid to get the drivers behind you attention
Check out the kuryakyn panacea system. I put it on my bike and absolutely love them. Needed different equalizer than what came with the kit because of the security system.
BTW custom dynamics has the best price for this system.
