Starting Problems--HELP
I have a 1998 fxsts that wont start. When I hit the starter button the starter solenoid clicks and spins but does not engage. I have tried rocking it while in gear to see if teeth were locked,still no luck. I installed a new battery, same results,nothing. Any ideas of where to look from here? I was thinking maybe my starter relay has taken a dump. Thanks for any help.The Harley Hobo.

I am having the same issue with my 88 sportster. Replaced the battery too but all i get is click.
My next set is going to be trying to troubleshoot the relays. I found this article and it seems to make sense to me:
