have fitted LED indicators to my 85 FXR but they wont flash, they just stay on. They are zodiac hi-glides and have three wires, red, grey and a bare wire. The old filaments work so the flasher is working. It cant be that hard to get them going.
on the positive side of the wire going to your LED indicators (each one) install a 470 OHM 12 volt resistor. it's simple, cut the positive wire and install the resistor to one end and then to the other.
the color bands on the resistor would be and you can pick them up at any radio shack:
band1 - yellow
band2 - violet
band3 - brown
Make sure you solder the wires and resistor together and protect the resistor and exposed wiring with heat shrink to prevent shorts later on. Electrical tape works well too, i just prefer heat shrink on anything that might move or vibrate.

just FYI too. the above only applies to older bikes. the newer bikes, the ECM, TSM, TSSM look for very specific voltages and current draws for the lighting to work properly so instead of resistors, you'll need load balancers to make LED lights function properly.
