Being you checked the switch, is it working properly with power on both sides when it is on?
Have you checked for corrosion at the fuse panel?
Like asked above, do they go out (off) or are they blown out bulbs ?
You didn't say much about the driving lights themselves. H/D or aftermarket? Design for a vibrating motorcycle or designed for a car?
Could be that when you turn on heavy duty driving lights you put your charging system under a heavy load. Often the bike with driving lights is set up to run low beam headlights with the addition of the driving lights so you don't have a huge draw on your charging system.
Filaments go bad for a few reasons. Too much voltage. Not a clean DC voltage feeding them, like in a bad regulator. Vibration is hard on filaments too. Perhaps placing a better quality bulb, or sealed beam in the holder would stop the problem.
I would make certain the lights are designed for use on a motorcycle if they were just some aftermarket units.
