Question Wiring extension

Hello all!
I'm in the process of fitting 18" apes to my 98 evo road king. I have just bought the wiring extension kit for the hand controls. I would like to run the wiring inside the bars. My question is, can the switches be disconnected and new wiring installed. The switches look like sealed units to me. Or does the old wiring from the switches have to spliced on to the new wiring?????
Many thanks in advance!
Jeff

you'll have to splice your wiring. if you pull those switches apart, you'll cause yourself more problems than you want to deal with.
