battery not charging
can anyone shed some light on a problem i have. im using a 1980 ironhead in a custom im building, i,ve ran a mutant wiring system which does what it needs to ie starting, lights etc. the trouble is i cant get the battery to charge. i replaced the generator( polarised it ) replaced the regulator, opened the timing case to check if there's anything.its my first bike build so am not the most technically minded so forgive me, thanks

Hi Andy, there are some useful hints and tips at the top of this forum index, as 'stickies'. Go back to: Do It Yourself Help Forum > Electrical and Lighting. If you have any more specific queries come back. If all else fails find yourself a local independent bike shop.
