Default Daymaker Headlight Install - Street Glide

I bought a Daymaker headlght for my 2013 Street Glide and couldn't find a single installaton guide, so I thought I would post some instructions that may help someone out. It's very similar to replacing headlights on older model vehicles. I'm sure most of you have probably done that at some point. However, due to the Daymaker not fitting in the stock mounting ring assembly, you have to remove it as well.

1. Remove the chrome outer ring.
2. Remove the retainer ring that secures the headlight. (3 screws) Remove the top one last and hold the headlight so it doesn't try to fall out.
3. Pull the headlight out and unplug it.
4. Remove the 4 screws that secure the rest of the metal headlight ring assemby to the faring. Remove the entire metal ring assembly.
5. Use the 4 screws to secure the new mounting ring assembly to the faring. Be sure the slit that the outer chrome ring attaches to is at the top and the screw hold is at the bottom.
6. Plug in the Daymaker.
7. Intsall the retaining ring that secures the light, starting with the top screw. (Make sure all holes line up before putting the screws in. It will only fit one way. Hold the headlight in place until you get all 3 screws started. Tighten down the screws.
8. Take your Harley on a night test ride and adjust to your liking by using the 3 adjusting screws with the allen heads.
9. Instal the chrome ring by inserting the top wire hook in the slot and tightening the screw at the bottom.

You may want to keep the allen wrench with you for the first couple of night rides so that you can adjust it more if other vehicles are flashing their lights at you or if horizontal adjustments are needed.

I hope this helps. Sorry I didn't take pictures during the installation process. It shouldn't take 15-20 minutes at most. It took me a little longer because I didn't have any instructions.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Ride hard. Ride safe.
