Default Voltage regulator wire issue

Ok guys and gals got a question, over the winter I put a new volatage regulator on my 01 wide glide. I got to ride it once and while parked my puppy chewed the wires on the new regulator. It didnt chew them all the way thru, but it did get the caseing pretty good. Can I cut them, put a good crimp connector and heat shrink tubing on it to avoid replacing it.

You can, but it has to be a very good crimp or soldered joint. It's a high current circuit and any voltage drop will result in heat and eventual failure...so make sure you have a very solid connection.
