Default Battery tender ground location-

After returning from a 1500 mile road trip I discovered that the ground lead from my battery tender had broken off at the battery. For those of us that know the Deuce we know that there is absolutely no spare room under the seat to do anything. So my question is whether I need to have the ground lead actually attached to the battery to allow the tender to properly charge the battery. Can I attach it to the main ground to the frame that's under the seat instead?

Either ground should be OK, as long as the neg. battery cable is still in place.

Any good connection to the frame is fine.

That's what I was hoping. I figured it was at the other end of the negative/ground cable so it should be good. But, I just wanted to check with you guys first.

Thanks for the reply
