Long time lurker, first time poster. "94 FXSTC. I need help. Lost keys, decided to install new ignition switch. Cheaped out and let my buddy install. Bike starts and runs well. BIG problem, it will now start in ANY ignition postion, even in off! I've checked it against wiring diagrams, most seems ok, jumpers appear to be in right location, the rest is out of my league. Could be crossed wire, I'm not sure any and all help or suggestions much appreciated.
What does your buddy say? Did he check the switch for proper operation before installation?
Switch was new in the box. I can only assume he did not check. He's no pro wrench, just more comfortable around wiring than I am. He claims he simply replaced wires in same location as original switch. He's not sure what could be the problem. Everything works as it should, starter, lights ect., problem is bike will start in ANY position on switch, even off! He's baffled.
