Default 2014 Engine Knock

I have a friend who purchased a 2014 limited, 103 CU I have a 2012 his has a really bad engine knock at times, took it to the dealer and they said it was normal. I don't think Harley is going to build something that sets and sounds like its coming apart. They are saying all 2014 have this at times?. All I can say is I'm glad I have a 2012 if this is true. What is your thoughts..

Possibly the compensator, see what another dealer or better yet an independent shop thinks of it.

Default engine knock

Had the same problem with my '14 883...dealer said it was normal. Did the conversion to 1200 and the noise went away. Dealer "forgot" to install the heavier clutch spring and when i brought it back(due to the clutch slipping) and asked if the tech had installed the heavier spring he said yes and tried adjusting the clutch. When i brought it back the next day with the same clutch slip he said my kit didnt come with that spring...but he was wondering why it came with a primary gasket. Neadless to say I dont trust them any more. So when they say normal...i'm pretty sure that means they are lazy and don't want to deal with it.problem there is i have a warrantee and shouldnt have to pay for work to be done to fix the problems i have with the bike. I would suggest you demand something be done about the knock before it gets worse or does any damage. Me personally am changing dealerships to see if that helps. Maybe i'll get lucky and find one who cares. Oh and apparently they all like to talk **** about each others service.
