Yep.
The Moco has cut S&S out of the loop on the repairs, and now just wants to have you toss your bugged parts out the window.
Just more money for the Moco.
Seems the ability by folks to actually repair is more and more in the rear view mirror..........

Well, as long as you can still buy a connecting rod it isn't that bad.

Means money for dealers if you wanted this route. Almost guaranteed If you brought engine on yourself they would not offer warranty. Also may not even allow purchase. I'd rather have a quality rebuild from a machine shop than pay for another stock engine.

I hear you, but the nature of an HD engine to be re-fitted/rebuilt is coming along the way of most everything else..
If it breaks, put it in the scrap pile and replace with new.
