Default 2014 fatboy cams

I have been doing some reading on cams because I want to install some new cams this winter, besides the cams and the bearings what other parts should I upgrade when the cams are out?

Adjustable pushrods if you don't want to open the rocker boxes, or wish to have more control over valve lash.

I would consider changing the lifters to quality aftermarket parts, as the "C" lifters in late model engines have been problematic with many failures reported, and the failure rates increase with more aggressive cams. At the very least give the lifters a good inspection before going forward.

nhrider1 gave you good advice about the lifters. But, there are reported issues with just about every brand of lifters. Most builders seem to prefer the S&S lifters and they seem to have the fewest issues. Some pretty smart people in the industry seem to think a lot of cams ground for Harleys do not follow accepted engineering practices where cam ramp rates are concerned. And the lifter becomes the weak link. Here is a good link that explains it all. But maybe more information than you want. Cheers.

Thanks guys for the input on this. I was just going to use bolt cutters and install adjustable push rods when I change the cams.Martin10 I understand the clearance ramp on the lobes, as I used to work at an engine shop and we had cam doctor and often checked every lobe on the cams to make sure the cam was as it should be.
