Ok well installed the pushrods and it started for half a second if that. A lot closer then I've been though. However, after it attempts to fire up I hear loud grind like the starter gets caught or something and it all stops.
I agree, I even called FuelMoto about that and they said to just use a screw driver and place it in the cooling fins and use it to push down that spring load part. I did that on two of them, I still have to get the other two on this weekend.
a craftsman square shaft screw driver works great make sure you wrap some tape around it so you don't scratch your cylinders.

Is it turning over at all, making any loud knocks, is the battery dead from cranking and kicking back?
If you pull the plugs and put your finger over the hole are you getting compression?

It actually starts for like a second or two then I get the loud grinding like the starter is binding or something it all stops. Before I installed the new pushrods it would only turn over and maybe pop. Now it actually starts up but something is binding like starter kickback. I started it while jumping it off my truck as the battery may be a little low.

Well you need to charge up the battery, and I would put on the stock ignition and see what it does.
Also have you checked your can timing?

**** started. Front cylinder is definitley not firing. I need to go rent a compression tool.
Better to buy a new one for about $35 from an auto parts store. The things tend to go bad after a while and don't give accurate readings. At least make sure that the one you rent/buy has the correct size/thread fitting for your spark plug holes.
I was getting no compression in the front cylinder. I tried the paper towel method and got nothing. Loosens the pushrods up till the were wiggling around and tried the paper towel method again. Boom, compression. Readjusted the pushrods and lost it again.
