I rode the bike for a few miles to get it up to temperature, then put on a pair of leather gloves and adjusted the pushrods again. I tightened them up to where they had no play, but could just barely be turned with gloved fingers. The noise is now gone, and it seems to be running fine this way.
did alot of small block chevys that way, on a engine at operating temp loosen each rocker till it rattles tighten to zero lash and 3/4 to 1 turn more. not sure on a vtwin engine but make sense.

We load the lifter to .140-.150" cold.
Seems to create a quiet valve train.

Yeah, my 48's do the same. A little noisy, just enough to get your attention and kickstart the "worry syndrome".......

So .140", I have to look at the thread pitch on my pushrods and give it a shot.
