Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
For a while now my bike is turning over harder then usual.I thought it might be the battery going bad. I had the dealer test the battery and it tested good. I checked the battery cables for corrosion and to make sure they are tight, all good. I spent time looking to make sure there are no wires shorting, all good.
Then I started thinking maybe the ACR aren't working like they should.
Any idea how I can test them? I can hear them click when the ignition is turned on. front one is easily heard but the rear acr is quite but can be heard.
I have a 2015 street glide with no DTC codes
Thanks all

u are probably hearing the fuel pump inside tank. the acr's don't energize until u push the starter button, as soon as u release the starter button they turn back off. there is no way u are hearing them work. they vent into the exhaust just before the clamp where exhaust header bolts to head. get a compression gauge and get a reading with the acrs still hooked up electrically and another with them un plugged. u will get about a 20-25 psi diff in the reading. the last post I saw on this the guy thought it was acrs' his battery was shot.

As suggested, a compression test with the ACRs enabled and disabled will tell if the ACRs are the problem. How old is the battery? Batteries can test good but when put under the load of the a high compression motor, run out of steam real quick. I am betting a new battery solves the problem.
