Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
I got a shovelhead build. It's my first engine build so don't blast my lack of knowledge to bad.
It has delkron cases year unknown stock bore I believe.jugs and pistons are shot ..they were extras laying around the shop. Bottom end supposedly only has no more than 500 miles on rebuild..
I'm looking for both performance and dependability..this motor belonged to someone very close that has past on..
Has S&S connecting rods flywheel and from what I see is very clean. There's some slight side to side play on those connecting rods..any proven advice greatly appreciated..
Port the heads, insure good piston/wall fitment, and an Andrews #2 cam, at approx 8.5 cr.
Solid performer that'll last, but this is just one example.
