So my bike is 2014 103" FXDF and I will be doing a cam swap to a 57h in a couple of weeks. I have the cams, S&S quickee pushrods & covers, gaskets, o-rings and a bearing puller/installer etc... But I don't have any replacement lifters yet.
I was looking at using the Gaterman 1023s, but can't find them online anywhere. I live in the UK, but will be in the US next week so can pick up parts and carry them home.
Anyway.....it's not a high power build, so I don't want to spring for the $200+ ultra high performance lifters, but I do want a set that's better than the stock C lifters that I can order online.
Any recommendations for what to use? Or where I can order a set of Gatermans from?
Comp Cams Vthunder 850-1 lifters are very reasonably priced and are good quality. If I were you, I would buy 8 while in the US so you have some spares.
If you want Gatermans, Don Dorfman of Dewey's Heads is where I got mine. I'm running the hi perf/heavy duty version on my Tman 625's and they're pretty quiet. I've used Johnson Hylift lifters on a buddy's bike with good results. Plenty of choices, obviously. I'll be using the Comp Cams units in the next 2 bikes I work on, my cousin's and my wife's.

Some food for thought there fellas - many thanks. Looks like the Comp 850s are a good bet for price and performance. Think I'll order up a set of those and maybe some spares too. Can't beat the price as they are half that of the S&S standards.
Interesting read on the Gatermans. Maybe that's why they are out of stock right now - perhaps they are in the process of switching manufacturer to get over the issues.
