-14 FLHX with 103 high output
-Roland Sands A/C
-Rush Big Louie Mufflers with 3" baffles
-SE Tuner
-Stock head pipe
I am looking to do a little motor work this winter and am looking for some opinions on what route to go.
I know the large baffles in my mufflers are not ideal and I also know I need to get the stock head pipe out of there. I was thinking either a D&D ceramic head pipe with my current mufflers or an entirely new exhaust system, possibly the D&D Boarzilla.
I was also looking into doing some cam work. I rode a fairly stock 15 FLHXS with an Andrews 59HG cam, propipe and SE tune and liked what I felt. I was considering doing this but didn't know what other opinions were out there and what else I should look at.
I want to get TQ and HP above 100 each, and really want to focus on driving up that TQ # because in my opinion that is what the butt dyno will like best.
So, let me have it...what do you think...please keep in mind I am an extreme novice when it comes to motor work and it won't take much for things to go WAY over my head.
In my (unprofessional) opinion you will not break 100hp without doing headwork. There are many good cams that will get you 90-95hp and 105-110tq. Look at where the torque curve is in relation to your driving style. I like low end torque for pulling out of corners etc. I have a set of Woods tw555 cams in my 14flhxs along with V&H pro pipe and I'm happy with the results but more upgrades this winter.

I too like low end torque. What did yours dyno at?
I never had mine on the dyno. Its tuned with a vision tuner and it seemed pretty good. A friend of mine has the same bike with the woods 222 cams, I believe his dynoed at 89/107 and I can pull away from him.
For winter upgrades I'm gonna probably go to a 107 with 777 cams and some headwork, or maybe a 124....
