Also, I saw my oil pressure gauge drop off, and by the time I reached the ignition to kill the bike, it already died. So did all the pressure just go because that lifter dropped down that low??

I'm basing the oil starvation theory on the fact the lifter for the #2 cylinder looks rusty (maybe it isn't). No lifter with sufficient flow could ever rust in my opinion. What does the lifter bore look like on the #2 cyclinder? (The front)

That's one nasty blowout but pretty sure that lifter bore can be repaired. IIRC, Kirby/VeeTwin Performance and forum sponsor does these kinds or repairs. If not, there is a guy on HTT forum that does.

Just the way the picture came out. There's definitely no rust

Ok so I did some more looking into it. I can slide a good lifter into that bore and move it freely with a cam (no play/lash). There is some scoring in the lower part of the bore, but it moves easily, so as long as it will seal oil pressure below where it enters the lifter it should be all good right? (Not talking about possible damage elsewhere)

I'd look up the lifter bore tolerances and measure yours. They do make over sized lifters should yours be out of spec.

I would have all four lifter bores bored out and sleeved and maybe pined in place. If that is possible.
