Any suggestions on the 'best' forged 10.5:1 piston for a 107" build? Axtell, MTC, Wiseco?

Anybody have any feedback on having used the IC FuelMoto jugs as opposed to having my own re-worked?
You want a piston assembly that weighs about the same as OEM pistons; MTC pistons will be too light. Axtell uses JE pistons in their motor kits, at least they used to. If piston/pin/rings/clips is too light, the rotating mass will generate an unpleasant vibration.

Bore your cylinders to fit whatever pistons you buy; you will know bore is true and fitment is correct. Even if you buy new cylinders, you would buy with bore undersize for boring to fit the pistons. Don't take a chance on buying cylinders and pistons assuming cylinder bore is true and pistons will fit the bore properly.

Actually, the 110 drop in kit is not a bad idea but an aftermarket cam; the 777s would not be a good fit.

EDIT: An OEM TC88 piston assembly (piston/pin/rings/clips) weighs 593.5g; an OEM TC96/103 piston will weigh about the same. As a point of reference; an MTC 4.125" piston assembly weighs 548g; a CP 4.125" piston weights 575g; a CP 4.060" piston weighs 543g; a JE 4.125" piston weighs 656g. The referenced piston weights include a .180" wall pin; add about 45g for a .230" wall pin. I rebuilt an all bore 107" motor with a set of MTC 4.125" pistons and hung them on a crank that had been balanced by Darkhorse to the weight of a JE piston without thinking about the reciprocating weight. The vibration that occurred between 1800-2400rpms and from 2400-1800rpms made the bike unrideable. It finally dawned on me that the difference in piston weight was causing the vibration. I replaced the MTC pistons with a set of JE pistons and the vibration went away; lesson learned. Now I am very careful about selecting pistons for a rebuild.

CP forged 10.5:1 with Cometic .030 head gaskets are the plan... cylinders come out tomorrow to head to the shop.

About two weeks lead time for the bore & hone of the cylinders, gap the rings and it'll get put back together.

We have been boring the OE cylinder to 3.937" since 2006 with our 88-98" kits, and in 2007, we contacted the Engineering Dept, at Wiseco Piston, Mentor, Ohio, and then were boring 96-107" using our proprietarty Wiseco/Cometic piston/gasket kits.
One of the very first shops in the country to bore the OE cylinder to that dimension, before some outfits were even in business.........
At $600.00 for the entire job with the rings gapped/installed on the pistons, and a COMPLETE Cometic engine gasket set.........clearly one of the best values out there.

Yes, Bob.
Good price no doubt.
We've been holding that pricing since the conception, but we will need to bump that up soon, as material costs have risen in the past 9-10 years.

What piston are you using for 10.5/1 107? Wiseco only list 10/1 Pistons in 3.937.
