I don't know for sure if the heads were decked . When I was placing my order the guy at hpi seemed very confident that he knew what he was dealing with when I told him that I had the tman pro touring elite heads and 107 kit. The monkey wrench for me is the long memorial day wkend. I can't get a hold of anybody to discuss the fitment issue. The stock tb will slide back in but it's tight. If I was to loosen a couple head bolts I could possibly and I say possibly get the hpi unit in there. That would suck big time tho as I just installed the new roller rockers the other day and would have to take apart everything I just put together to get at the head bolts and I don't have any rocker box gaskets . I don't mind filing down the hpi manifold if I knew this was a common occurrence but don't want to screw up a new manifold . It seems kinda sketchy. I'm just a shade tree mechanic , I'm no professional at all.

You do not want to loosen up the head bolts. The heads sit on dowels for alignment. You are going to have to fit the intake to the heads. I'm pretty sure Tman decked the heads to get the chamber size an compression ratio he needed. You can't be impatient when you are doing this kind of work. I would be cautious about using your old TB. Make sure you have the proper clearance. I just got through doing exactly what you are.

Yeah don't loosen head bolts now that they are on and torqued. It's the manifold you'll have to persist with

I had this exact problem on my 107 build. Don at HDSP milled my heads roughly .04 to achieve our desired CR. I had to use S&S thin gaskets on my manifold, with standard thickness gaskets the intake manifold clamps interfered with the shoulders on the intake manifold. HPI sells intake manifold clamps that eliminates the interference issue and allow the use of standard thickness gaskets. I have a set of these now but haven't found the need to install them.

Here's a quick update. Took about 2hrs with a file and sandpaper but was able to remove enough material off the manifold runners to get the hpi unit to fit. In fact once I got it in the ports on the manifold and inlet ports on the heads matched up perfectly. They are almost seemless . With my frustration behind me I gotta admit the hpi unit is an impressive piece of equipment . Especially when compared to the stock tb. After that I mounted the bottles and started running some of the hoses from my dynotune nitrous kit . With the tman kit and his 577 cams I'm hoping for around 115/115 with a 30hp shot of nitrous on tap when I call on it . I did upgrade to 5.3 injectors to handle the need for more fuel when on the bottle. I'm piggybacking a power commander 5 with my sert to take care of the fuel management needs. I would like to thank each and everyone of you that responded to this thread. I really do appreciate it !!!!

My bike has always been tuned at LA Harley in Lewiston Maine using my screaming eagle tuner. I'm trying somebody different this go around or no other reason than to try the place out. He has an awesome reputation. My next on the list will be Big Boyz Cycle and Bean in Augusta. I've heard he is like a tuning yoda. . The place I'm trying recommend the pc5 to piggyback on my tuner. He is using it to dial in the nitrous. That's the only reason I bought it. I know what a tech is doing when he is tuning my bike but as far as the different tuners I'm a little ignorant.
