Trouble with speedometer, odometer, and spitting and sputtering
I have a 2000 fatboy and recently have had problem while driving all of a sudden the speedometer neddle will jump all over the place and digital miles will go on and off and the bike will backfire and spit and sputter and has no response to throttle just keeps spitting and sputtering. I usually pull over somewhere and let it rest and seems to start back up and has no problems. I now have had the same thing happen but when I turn off ignition and turn back on I have nothing. Eventually I turn ignition on and everything is back and working but will start the odometer flashing and speedometer bouncing around and spitting and sputtering more then just once now. Please help. Starting to think it may be ignition switch but didn't think that would have anything to do with the spitting and sputtering or needle and odometer problem.

double check to make sure battery connections are tight with good clean connection. i know it sound elementary, but i had some of the flickering and speedo error and someone said to check it. i would have swore they were fine, but sure enough it was loose. no issue since.
