It has been posted, but I don't recall where. Interesting that we may have a 'New Evo'. The old one was a V˛, I wonder what the new one will be called - how about ηV˛?!

A multi-valve head usually lends itself to higher rpm power, contrary to HD history.

Hi Scott,

I would have thought valve train wasn't the limiting factor for RPM? If you can't turn the long stroke motor any harder will more valves make a lot of difference?

Cheers,
Surly

What I'm getting at, is that the multi-valve stuff historically did not work in the past, and if HD has a glorified version of a V-Rod, they might just be barking up the wrong tree.

this is exactly what i was thinking too! don't see how it could make much more power than a evo.

Not necessarily. The 4 valve head allows them to go to a pent roof combustion chamber as opposed to the hemispherical. Pent roof allows a lower chamber volume, as well as dual plugs. Combustion events can be shorter in duration as well as better controlled, leading to more complete burning and lower emissions.

We should start a pool to see when the first cam upgrade will hit the market and who will be the first to offer one.
