S&S lifter bleed bown
I did some preventive maintenance on my 09 EGC @ 70, 000 miles by install new inner cam bearings and S&S standard lifters, update breathers, rocker shaft lockers gaskets and seals. Oil pump was in perfect shape, crank runout .0055 . Two of the old C lifter rollers had just started small area of chrome flaking. After job was completed I went on a 4000mile ride for two weeks all is good accept one lifter bleeds down on fuel stops, not quick stops but say 15-20 min. stops. It's not everytime but 50/ 60% of the time. I'm assuming it's do to where or what cam lobe the motor stops on. It has done it on cold starts also, the lifter doesn't bleed down complete like I've heard on other bikes on cold start rather if I had to guess by the sound maybe 10-20 thou. The odd thing is it takes about 3-5 seconds for the tick to go away hot or cold. Oil pressure pumps up instantly. It hasn't got any worse or better just very frustrating .

What preload are you setting your lifters at? I have woods lifters and when they are set at .125 it always takes a few minutes before they bleed down. Got tired of the few minutes of tapping so I readjusted them to .145 as recommended by some of the reputable builders here and tapping was gone.
