really confusing START, but wont stay running....
First off, I got a custom soft tail, running the ultima el bruto 127ci.
Yesterday I took the carbs off, and cleaned them 100%, noticed float wasn't set right, and the jets were clogged. I check the gas, and its a nice heavy flow.
Ill start the bike, but then after a minute it will die. After I cleaned the carbs the bike wouldn't start, and needs a jump. I jump it, removed the cables then it dies. The messed up part is, after it died and I called a truck to come take it home I decided to give it one last shot, started right up no problems & didn't die. I rode it home, ran strong, throttle was great. After I got home, and put it away I wanted to try and start it again, and sure enough she started & then died after idle for a bit. IDK, I'm kind of leaning towards a voltage regulator problem? Fuel filter is clean, nothing is clogged, and the carb is getting gas...
Can anyone chime in on this?
Thank you

How about some history: Before you touched the carb, was the bike running?
Before you touched the bike, was the battery OK?
Have you tested the battery?
Have you tested the electrical system when the bike is running?
Have you attached a known good battery (not attached to another vehicle) with cables to see if it stays running? Then tested the electrical system?
Have you checked the 4 ends of your battery cables?
Do NOT jump the bike from a running vehicle.

Ultima 127ci el bruto motor
Just went for about a 45 min ride, and then it happened again.

Lets try again.
1-How about some history: Before you touched the carb, was the bike running?
Was the bike only OK for the 45 minute ride described the ONE day or was the bike OK for several weeks at a time before?
2-Before you touched the bike, was the battery OK? yes, no, maybe how old is battery?
3-Have you tested the battery? how? yes , no
4-Have you tested the electrical system when the bike is running? yes, no
5-Have you attached a known good battery (not attached to another vehicle) with cables to see if it stays running? Then tested the electrical system? yes, no
6-Have you checked the 4 ends of your battery cables? yes, no
Do NOT jump the bike from a running vehicle.
From a distance and the limited information available it might be an electrical problem and not fuel related.
It could be as simple as a bad switch or start button, a bad relay, bad battery, bad connection or a faulty charging system.
But it could also be something associated with the starter or starter circuit.
