I just tore my motor down on my 2010 Wide Glide. It is getting the HD 110" cylinders and piston kit (92500039) , S&S 585 cams and I'm still in the air about heads. Either sending them out or bolting up some S&S 89cc. I just have to figure out if I need to clearance the valve cuts on the pistons or not and where The compression needs to be for these cams. I am thinking 10:1

Not hard to do at all.If you have even moderate mechanical ability you can do it.

I've never done it either, this is my first attempt. Didn't stop me. A real time pic, in my garage

The S&S .585 cams want 10.5-1 to 10.7-1.at 10.0-1,the results will be very soft low RPM performance and mediocre mid & upper RPM power

Sounds pricey, kinda'.
We have complete 98", and 107" kits that start as low as $2050.00, with headwork, if you are pulling the wrenches.
If your getting priced with say an HPI t/body, injectors, roller rockers, 2.00" valve heads that'll handle large lift/large TDC's, with a good 2/1 pipe, that could actually be even more than that quote you've received.
Happy to help you with your goals.

10.5:1 minimum, as Kirby mentioned 10.7:1 is not out of the question....

For the $1000 it cost to purchase the S&S heads I'm Sure that Kirby who is not far from you (2 hrs) can match your heads to that cam. It'll make a huge difference...

Hey Hillside can the 103 cylinders be cut to 110 without going too thin?

Not Hillside, but no you can't. 107 is the max.
