I was cleaning up my Dyna the other night and noticed what looks like rust on my head gaskets. I attached a photo, they both look the same all the way around pretty much. I've washed it once, and immediately dried it after with my blower. It's never seen rain or salty roads, hell it's only got 850 miles on it. Just wondering if this is common?
Yeah harley switched to a MLS steel gasket (same as most choose on the aftermarket.). It doesn't have any protective coating so the outside rim will surface rust. I have never seen one fail due to rust though so I wouldn't worry about it
