Default head gasket question

i have cometic .030 gasket with 3 layers at .010 each. anybody ever cut the rivet and just use 2 layers for .020 ??? dos anybody make a .020 head gasket for a 06 dyna 95in.???

No. I have cut the rivets plenty of times before they redisgned the fitment. I would not run at .020, thats not a good recipe. And besides, i dont think all 3 layers are the same thickness. I could be wrong though as i never measured them separately.

are your pistons down in the hole? I have heard of people doing that with cometics but If you are not down in the hole I think .020 is pretty narrow squish. I think that is drag bike stuff but they get pulled down all the time so no worry of carbon etc.

it seems like nothing but i do beleive that it might not seal as well. a lot of work to take it apart again for a blown gasket or maybe even worse. dont ya think.....
