Default Breather assembly

Im a bit confused on the reassembly of the breather that sits on top of the rocker plate.
I took the rocker out to do the rockout install and drill out the oil holes under it.
while the breather assembly was out, I had new umbrella valve and filter element from a cam change kit that I had.
I took the breather assembly apart, scraped off the old gasket. This is where Im confused, the book doesn't show any gaskets used in the breather but,I scraped off the old gasket between the top and bottom part of the stamped breather and off the rocker support plate where the breather sits. In the kit I have, It has gaskets for that are supposed,I guess for the breather, but none of the gaskets seam to fit right between the 2 halfs of the stamped breather.

My question is, is there gasket to use when reassembling the breather or where the breather sits on the rocker support plate? or do I need to buy new breather assembly

Thanks all

I'm not absolutely sure about your motor, but my '06 has gaskets between the breather and rocker box; and also between the two top breather parts. There are several fifferent styles of breathers out there, perhaps the gaskets you have are for a different style breather.

Check out Ronnies parts finder for specific model:

I have the newer stamp style breathers. Even Ronnies shows no gaskets

The gasket is inside the stamped breather.

As mentioned above, there is a gasket between the two breather halves, and under the breather...

There are a few types of gaskets out there looks like you may have the wrong ones.

If you need new breathers the part number is 17025-03a.

Thanks for trying my kit

Some of the gasket kits I saw only have the gaskets for the old style breathers, and not the newer "stamped" ones shown in ROCKOUT's picture.

The bottom part in the picture is pressed metal and has gaskets glued to it top and bottom ...which typically fall to bits if you loosen those screws off again

17025-03A is the full breather kit including screws and top, shown in the pic

26500002 is only the breather baffle assembly with the filter and the umbrella (top two bits and the bottom bit in the pic) ...at about half the price.

Ronnies does not show a separate gasket for your model. I just put the new style stamped breathers in my '06, and the breather came with gaskets glued to the bottom of the base piece. My guess is you either have older breathers, or older gaskets. I would think you would need some sort of base gasket to get oil flow correct.

A 2015 SG will have the new stamped breathers. There are no "separate" gaskets hence them not listed.

You scraped the gaskets off thinking you were going to re-use the breather baffle plate - you're not, buy a new one it has the gaskets glued on already.

What you have found in your old kit are the top/bottom gaskets for the OLD breather style ...throw them away
