Hi guys,
Anyone know where I can buy a new complete oem 80" evo crate motor from? I know that HD has stopped making them, but I thought it would still be worth asking incase any of the big warehouses still have stock... It's either that or a100" rev tech and I'd rather go the oem route.
Thanks
It's always helpful to explain a bit more than you have told us so far. What do you want this engine for?! I suggest you start at a local dealer, who should be able to tell you through the central database if there are any crate engines hiding away at other dealers in Oz. If not S&S make an 80" Evo plus others, and I would chose that brand over other aftermarket engines.

Yeah, sorry I didn't think any more info was needed. Just looking at buying a new genuine 80" evo motor and trying to find out if you can still buy them and where from.... It's for a 1996 FXSTC that needs a rebuild.
It's basically because here it would cost practically the same to rebuild my Evo as buy a new crate motor from the US. Can't get em here. Even if we could they would be too expensive anyway. A couple years ago I looked into getting an evo crate motor sent to me and it was AUS$5000 to my door ask taxes and everything. Here rebuilds start at $4K and go up from there.
I did see that s&s sell a cylinder and piston kit for these motors for $650 which also could be a great idea. But that's assuming the bottom end doesn't need any work, and after 40,000 kms I'm not so sure I can rebuild just the top end, change the cam and tune her up and go.....
Cheers.
yeah, you could be right.
What or who makes the best rebuild kits for these motors? I know s&s does a cylinder and piston kit.
Thanks
I got the gear to rebuild my twin cam from Serco. Not sure where you are, but they are cheaper than the dealer, so you might be able to get it posted to you.

hey mate. I'll have to look into that. Never heard of Serco.
Cheers
no major problems, just thought I would give it a top end freshen up while I was putting a performance cam in. Thought it would need a good learning project for myself.
