When you guys say '2/2', are you referring to Initial timing/Advance Timing? For Daytona Twin tec? I have mine at 5 - Initial and 6 - Advance. The higher the number is for more advance, correct?

My build is Andrews 37G, 10:1, 98CI, compression test was at 210. Adding compression releases right now.

Yep and with 210 ccp I'd start at 2/2.. Might end up higher but it's a better starting point with that CCP.

Wow, did not know that. Thanks for the tip. When I get it back together I will try 2/2.
Did you guys ever use Dynatek ignition? Are they pretty good?

Yep, used one before Crane cam out with theirs. I had a mid-range flat spot.. Part of it was the ignition, and part was jetting on a pumped up motor.. Worked fine on a stage 1. Some have had good luck with them on performance builds but not I..

Flip side, the Evo internal nose cone ignition and external one have worked fine for me..

When I got mine back from being built I found that it would ping when rolling on at lower RPMs. Pulled the seat off and found it set at 5/5 (!). I backed it down to 4/5 and its great, ping is gone. Keep adding timing until you get the marbles in a coffee can sound, then back it off.

Advancing the timing until ping works but you really want to back off 2-3 (sometimes more) degrees for optimum performance. If you think you have it down wide open throttle (30 hg Map), you might get ping at partial throttle, that's where programming can com in handy.
The software just let's you download new curves? What else can you do with the software? I'm thinking about ordering that kit.

The software will let you create / edit the curves, change cranking revs before spark, and a few other functions..

So, with higher compression you can adjust the timing when starting? Having compression releases installed, but this could help, right?

Hey guys, the weather has been the sh*ts up here in northern Alberta the last week. I have a 3000km road trip planned for early July, and I have a lot of kms left to go before the engine is broken in. My GF is also bugging me she wants me to take her out for rides between now and then. Is it ok to have a 120lb chick on the back of the bike when I'm in the breakin process? I weigh 180lb
