Cleaning carbon from heads

Anyone use permatex gasket remover to clean carbon off of a set twin cam heads or is there a better solution

take them apart & bead blast them,be carefull with gasket remover.it`ll take powder coat off quicker than the carbon

I have had pretty good results using Gunslick foaming bore cleaner. spray it on and let it work for awhile, and use a green pad to scrub it clean. It will probably take a few applications to get it all, but it does work.
