Default 92 evo rebuild

I could use some tips, tricks, and resources on rebuilding a sportster evo. I know the engine has over 30k on it. What would you guys recommend replacing and what manufactures/ websites are worth looking at. any other recommendations not concerning the engine would be beneficial. Thanks in advance

Simple straightforward process......just follow the service manual.
If taken care of at all, could only need a re-ring(if that).
Doubt if it "needs" a valve job.
On the other hand, a set at 10.5 cr, a set of Andrews #8 cams will snap those to attention.

Just curious. Are you re-building it because of a specific problem, or just to freshen it up? 30,000 truly isn't alot of miles if well kept.

You're asking us what is called an 'open question' - in other words one for which there are endless answers! Tell us why you are rebuilding this engine and what you want of it.

make sure cylinder bores, guides, rocker bushings, ect are mic`ed for proper specs&.not worth taking it all apart, saying it all looked good & reassembling only to have a problem later.over the years we`ve seen a lot of rider (& shops) "rebuild" motors when in fact it was just taken apart & reassembled with new rings & gaskets

I thought I may have needed more than just rings and gaskets. The bike has had 2 previous owners and looks like it has never been serviced

I recommend you buy yourself the factory service manual and service it yourself, as per the schedule and details it will supply you with. At that mileage, unless it has been seriously abused or misused, it should be fine - certainly until 100k miles or more. If there is something specifically wrong with it then let us know, so we can provide some guidance, otherwise service, ride and enjoy!
