Default Remove & replace gears on gear driven camshafts

Anyone have some info on how to swap the gears on camshafts? Should be fairly easy with a hydraulic press (I'm hoping) - fortunately we have one or two in the shop where I work.
Currently have 37G and thinking of going to 26G. So, I was hoping I can just buy the cams and swap the gears.

with having some experience with the proper operation of using a press its a straight forward job. just use a set of the heavy plates on there edge drop the cam down through the top keep the plates as close to the inside of the gear and press it off. keep the gear in the same orientation remove your old keyway out of the old cam, tap it back into the new cam apply a little light oil on the cam shaft and inside the gear set the gear on top of plates and push the cam back into gear, as gear goes onto the shaft you might have to use a straight punch and a hammer to keep tapping keyway flat they have a tendency to move when gear is push on.

A +4* advance key would be cheaper and easier.

While I've not had any problems with the woodruff moving, it's simply press the gear off on cam and onto the other.. There is enough clearance from where the key is and the press fit starts that the sprocket will line up on the key before the press fit starts. Make sure the woodruff key is fully seated in the cam before mating.. I tap it in with a brass hammer then get it square by clamping it in a vise with soft jaws.. If the process scrapes a little off the key, make sure it's cleaned off before mating the gear. The important part is getting everything square while pressing. Cheap presses can be a PITA.

If you want, you can freeze the new cam and heat up the gear a little for an easier fit..

You'll want to replace the outer cam bearings. I freeze the bearings and heat the plate. Bearings slide right in.. While still warm, heat transfers to the inner race and the cams will press in pretty easy.
